Creative Chat Cafe is back for 2015 with a special live show on Wednesday, February 4, 2015!
To start off the year with Creative Chat Cafe, Zef decided to focus on her collaborations and have a few guests on the show! Joining her in this episode are her regular co-hosts, Lirone Glikman and Kenya Halliburton, as well as some previous Creative Chat Cafe guests, Steven Boughton and Sondra Firestein. The show was aired live on February 4, 2015 and was full of guidance, inspiration, and results from a variety of business perspectives to help you soar into a business and life that pays it forward. Take some time out to with Zef's business talk show hangout!

The Hangout: The Vision of Success

The Conversation:

ZEF: We are back! With a new look, two new cast members, and a new 60 minute live broadcast, starting today, anything can happen on Creative Chat Cafe! The new show is even working globally!

SONDRA: Yes, the show is global! I am enjoying my morning cup of coffee, while it is lunch time by you, Zef and Kenya!

LIRONE: I am coming to in from the future, since I am located in Tel Aviv, Israel, so it is already dinner time for me.

ZEF: I love that we are all located in different areas, at different times, but we can still get together and hangout for our business talk show. Creative Chat Cafe has changed its format a little; while still providing guidance, inspiration, and results, we are focusing on helping you soar into a business and life that "pays it forward" by taking a more active role in our social mission through collaborative efforts. I highly encourage you, our audience, to connect with the show and ask us your questions!

KENYA: Speaking of our social mission, February is a month packed with great holidays and observances. It's known for celebrating love and relationships on Valentines Day, as well as for Black History Month, but February is also International Expect Success Month. Success is something we all aim for in our life and it looks different for different people. There are so many definitions of success out there. I was wondering, do you, Zef, have your own definition or vision of success?

ZEF: It is so true that every definition of success is different for everyone. For some, it's keeping up with the status quo, the material stuff - homes, cars, vacations, etc. My own definition of success can be defined by three key points:
  • Not conforming to being average - meaning you're not easily swayed into making decisions that do not make you stretch and be better
  • Each person's success is defined not by what other people do or say, but what he or she can and will achieve - of course, this has to be backed up with strategies, just like in business
  • Growth and success is in the journey and not the destination - the journey is what will make you fail or succeed

KENYA: Great points Zef! What about you, Lirone? Do you have your own definition or vision of success?

LIRONE: I believe success is subjective. We all define success differently. Maybe for someone to land the work of his dreams and partner is success. Others would define success by making money and so on. For me, I see success as:
  • Being healthy - being around people I love and who love me and support me as I am here for them
  • Doing what I love - spreading the power of relationships and kindness around the world
  • Earning money - I also view this as a success

ZEF:  Just as definitions of success can vary by the view of the respondent, the path we take to achieve our version of success is different as well. So, what one thing are each of you focusing on this year to achieve your vision of success?

SONDRA: I'm finding that what makes me feel the most fulfilled in anything that I do is being surrounded by great people. Nothing can be achieved alone, so regardless of what I'm trying for, it's all about being surrounded by the right energy. This year, I'm really focusing on finding the right people and building legitimate, intimate, and authentic relationships with people. It's a way for me to find new clients, new colleagues, new team members, but most of all, lots of new friends! Its the power of attraction!

KENYA: For me, success looks like freedom in all aspects of my life. Family is so important to me. I have three boys and, for the longest time, trying to find that work/life balance was eluding me. So, for me, success looks like being the master of my time - time to spend doing the things that matter the most and that bring me the most joy and health, as well as time to spend with my family, friends, and serving those I feel called to serve. My focus is on setting up systems and using the power of automation to give me my time back.

Tools & Results:

What's one strategy or tool that you use to balance and organize your life or business so you stay on track?
ZEF'S TOOL:
One tool that I tend to rely more on these days is the world clock app that comes with my phone! Having a global team makes this such an essential tool! It helps me track the time difference and I leave no room for excuses. I am able to track time and manage it more efficiently.

KENYA'S TOOL:
Since my focus this year is setting myself free and mastering my time. I am using a "hands-free" strategy or automation, so I can market and manage my business virtually hands free. Of course, I'm a techie, so I am leveraging a number of different tools to do this. Freedom is not cheap.
One of the main things I am doing is podcasting. I am using a tool called Audello to manage my podcast, which will launch. It allows me to pre-schedule my podcasts in advance. This way, I can pre-record a bunch of them in advance and pre-schedule them to air. It works better for my hectic life and gives me the ability to engage with my listeners before, during, and after the show.
LIRONE'S TOOL:
Weekly plans are my tool. Every Saturday, I plan my week and set slots of time for work and for myself. I can change accordingly, if needed. This is how I manage my life and work.

SONDRA'S TOOL:
I use a combination of tools. My motto is this - "if it's not in my calendar, it doesn't exist." Whether it's for fun or work, it's got to be marked in the calendar to happen. I have a bajilion things going on and there is no way for me to keep it all straight in my head. I use my calendar to block work/play time and my to-do list to keep track of all the tiny details.
For my calendar, I use iCal on my computer, but it's weak on the mobile devices, so I use Calendars5 on my iPhone and iPad. I use todoist for my to-do list - it's easy to organize by project and it has a super simple to use extension for Chrome. I'm a big fan.
